Who handles your information

What we collect and why
If you email us, we receive your email address, name if supplied, message and any attachments. For homeowners, we ask initially for the required trade, town, broad postcode area, job description and preferred timing. For tradespeople, we ask for business contact details, coverage, preferred work and availability. We use these details to respond, seek suitable contractors, check availability and, where possible, discuss a suitable introduction. Please do not send identity documents, payment details or sensitive information in an initial enquiry.
Our lawful basis for responding to enquiries and assessing potential partnerships is our legitimate interest in operating and developing a local introduction service. Where processing is necessary to take steps at your request towards a contract or perform a contract, we rely on that basis. We ask for your specific permission before sharing your details with a named tradesperson; you may withdraw that permission before sharing occurs by emailing us.
Who receives your information
Emails are handled using IONOS email hosting. The website is hosted through OpenAI Sites and its infrastructure providers, which may process technical connection and security logs. We do not sell enquiry lists. We may share a non-identifying summary of the work and broad area when seeking availability. We will ask you before passing your identifying enquiry details to a named independent trades business. That business is responsible for its own use of information and should provide its privacy information.

How long we keep it
We will review open expressions of interest at least every three months and delete or anonymise inactive enquiry correspondence within six months of the last meaningful contact, unless an ongoing relationship, complaint or legal obligation requires longer retention. Financial and contractual records are retained separately for applicable tax and legal requirements. We minimise identifying job details in those records.
Website links and storage
The customer website does not submit forms to a database. Email links open your chosen email application, and a message reaches us only when you send it. The site does not add advertising trackers, analytics scripts or browser storage. Hosting providers may process necessary technical information. Fonts are requested from Google Fonts; your browser may connect to Google to retrieve them.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to access or correct your personal information, and where applicable ask for deletion, restriction, portability or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact hello@localtradelinkwales.co.uk. We do not add enquiry senders to a marketing mailing list automatically. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
